The NCAA Division I Baseball Choice Committee could have 4 new members for the 2025 season, D1Baseball has realized.

4 committee members have dropped off the 10-person committee this fall — they embody Military athletic director Mike Buddie, Air Power athletic director Nathan Pine, Utah athletic director Mark Harlan and former Coastal Carolina athletic director Matt Hogue. These conferences embody the Patriot League, Mountain West, Large 12 and Solar Belt.

The replacements for these committee members could have phrases that expire after the 2028 faculty baseball season. They embody Southern Miss athletic director Jeremy McClain (Solar Belt), Jacksonville State athletic director Greg Seitz (Convention USA, Kent State athletic director Randale Richmond (Mid-American) and Portland athletic director Scott Leykam (WCC).

Different committee members for the 2025 season embody committee chairman Jay Artigues from Southeastern Louisiana, Indiana’s Scott Dolson (time period expires 2027), East Carolina’s Jon Gilbert (time period expires 2027), Florida State’s Michael Alford (time period expires 2027), Kansas State’s Casey Scott (time period expires 2027) and Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin, whose time period doesn’t expire till 2028.

It will likely be attention-grabbing to see how the transparency of the choice committee improves below Artigues and past. For the primary time shortly this previous season, the committee used a brand new metric — the KPI (Kevin Pauga Index) as one of many metrics thought of for picks. Sources near the committee instructed D1Baseball this previous summer time that the KPI was not a ‘huge’ issue when it comes to picks for the 2024 NCAA event, however we are going to see if it has a higher emphasis in 2025.

One other metric that might acquire steam with the committee within the coming months is the DSR (Diamond Sports activities Rankings), which originated with 643 Charts and D1Baseball. You possibly can see an instance of how the DSR lined groups up this previous season, right here.
