Former massive league lefty Don Ferrarese handed away earlier this month. He was 95.
Ferrarese was an Oakland native who attended Saint Mary’s within the Bay Space. He started his minor league profession in 1948. It took seven seasons for the southpaw to achieve the majors with the Orioles. He briefly appeared within the massive leagues at age 25 in 1955. Ferrarese labored in a swing capability for the subsequent couple years. Baltimore traded him to the Indians early within the ’58 season in a deal that netted future All-Star southpaw Bud Daley (whom the O’s would commerce to the A’s weeks later).
After one season in Cleveland, Ferrarese was on the transfer once more. The Indians dealt him to the White Sox in a six-player swap. Ferrarese logged restricted motion with the Phillies and Cardinals earlier than the tip of his enjoying profession in 1962. He pitched for 5 groups over an eight-year MLB run. Ferrarese turned in a fair 4.00 earned run common throughout 506 2/3 innings. He began 50 of 183 appearances, gained 19 video games and recorded 350 strikeouts.
