The New York Yankees had a tough couple of months to finish 2024 as they misplaced the World Sequence to the Los Angeles Dodgers, then misplaced celebrity outfielder to the New York Mets.

Soto signed a contract with the Mets for 15 years value $765 million, even after the Yankees provided him an analogous deal to stick with the workforce.

Though the Yankees later made some key acquisitions this offseason, there’s doubtless a bitter style of their mouths with Soto becoming a member of the rival New York workforce.

Former Yankees and Mets pitcher Dellin Betances just lately revealed his ideas on the Soto scenario and which workforce owns New York.

“It’s at all times gonna be a Yankees city,” Betances stated, by way of Foul Territory.

Betances is referring to the feedback by Soto that New York is now a Mets city.

Whereas Betances said that New York will at all times be a Yankees city, he is likely one of the few gamers who has performed for each the Mets and the Yankees.

Betances debuted in 2011 with the Yankees and performed eight seasons earlier than going to the Mets in 2020 for the ultimate two seasons of his profession.

One of many causes Betances believes Soto went to the Mets is as a result of there, Soto is “the man,” and on the Yankees, Aaron Decide is “the man.”

Whereas the Yankees personal the World Sequence competitors between these two groups, the Mets may make a run on the title in 2025.

The Subway Sequence will likely be much more fascinating than standard as Soto will face his former workforce with some doubtless bitter emotions on the opposite aspect.
