WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — On its face, it would sound absurd to recommend Wake Forest may need a greater roster this spring than it did a 12 months in the past, when it was led by No. 2 general decide Chase Burns, No. 4 general decide Nick Kurtz and No. 10 general decide Seaver King, plus third-rounder Josh Hartle and fourth-rounder Michael Massey. All 5 have been preseason All-Individuals, contributing to the sky-high expectations for preseason No. 1 Wake Forest, coming off a historic 2023 marketing campaign that resulted within the No. 1 nationwide seed and a visit to the CWS semifinals.
